A little known fact about USHL linesman Justin Lyle was that he played for the Omaha Lancers during the 1993-1994 and 1994-1995 seasons.

After a few narcoleptic moments on the plane, I made finally made it to Chicago-O’Hare around noon and somehow managed to get lost going to my hotel that is a stones throw from the airport. Leave it to me.
Oh, and the best thing is this isn’t my first time staying here.
What a roller coaster the playoffs have been for the Chicago Steel. In what must have seemed like a reverse deja vu/nightmare combo, the Steel were swept from the playoffs by the Waterloo Black Hawks in overtime.
From the stands, it wasn’t much of a game to watch. From a photographer’s perspective, it was just as boring, if not more so because there wasn’t much action to shoot. And finally, from a sleep deprived, jet lagged, twenty-two-games-in-twenty-four-days photographer’s perspective, it was absolutely miserable.

No love for linesman Chris Woodworth.

Waterloo advanced to the championship round of the playoffs after Keegan Meuer scored in overtime. Chicago net minder Rob Madore sits stunned as the Black Hawks celebrate their victory.

Black Hawk die-hards packed into two tour buses and made the trip over to support their team. I have a hunch that Hondo was behind this.

Chicago’s Jak Knelman pauses to reflect on ‘what could have been’ moments after Meuer scored the game winning goal.
Congratulations to the Chicago Steel on a very successful season.

Thanks Timmy!

I have a feeling that this photo is going to be front and center on the many facebook “bash groups” about our officials. You know, I think I am going to start a facebook “bash group” about stupid fans.
